Default News article: Dees' Mad Monday outfits 'an error of judgement' ?

    http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-09-0...or-of-judgment

I've just finished reading a stack of comments on another website about the posed photo of one player dressed as Rolf Harris and another player dressed as a girl.

Most of the comments are saying the costumes are hilarious and everyone needs to calm down and stop being so precious. Very few comments are saying anything against these costumes.

Maybe i'm seriously precious too, but really? Costumes of pedophiles are funny now?

    Wondering what everyone else thinks

I heard about this last night and I must say, I think the criticism is warranted.

    It's extremely poor taste.

Making light of a paedophile is just wrong

Haven't read the article but no, not funny to me. DH's friends have made pedophile jokes in relation to our children before. We aren't close friends with those people anymore - not cool.

I think it's done in poor taste. If one of them had dressed up as Rolf Harris on his own, fair enough, but when the other bloke dressed up as a young girl it's taking it too far. It's all been dragged through the media only recently, and I doubt any man, woman or child who has been the victim of sexual abuse would like their situation made a joke of in such a public way. These blokes are young and stupid, there's no denying that and in this situation they stepped way over the line.

Not precious at all. Normally I think things like this are beaten up by the media but I saw this this afternoon and I just thought you idiots! In what world is that funny!

I'm glad it's not just me. I was just really surprised that so many commenters, young, old, men, women, all seemed to think we are just a nation looking for a reason to get upset about something these days. Instead of saying "this is not acceptable. There is nothing funny about child abuse or abusers"
