I'm hoping there is a few hubbers that have done the STAT & can advise me on the level of difficulty.
I need to score 157 to satisfy the English subject requirement. Would that be even remotely possible for someone who hasn't studied in over 17 years?

Who's Done The STAT, how difficult is it?

Yes, absolutely! I did it 4 or 5 years ago and it was not as difficult as I built it up to be. Are you doing the written English test too? I did find that one hard as I had not written anything even remotely like an essay since school, but I still managed to do ok.
The practice tests that are available are very like the real thing, IMO. So if you're ok with those you should be fine!

I don't think I have to do the written English test, just the verbal & quantitive. But I could be wrong, eek!

I've looked over the test one on the website and that looks fairly straight forward. I would struggle with the written English part though. They run workshops which could be beneficial. I'm going to attend one because I'm not confident with writing anymore.

I've done it, I found it pretty easy, I scored quite well, can't remember what my score was though. I didn't have to do the written one.

Subbing because I have to do one in October. I didn't know anything about the written part, or workshops. I'm worried I won't do well.

I'm freaking out so much!! I am comfortable in testing conditions, but I really want to do well & since you can't study for it, I feel totally out of control.
I did the practice one and only scored approximately 68%, which I think is quite low.

Have you done the sample test online? It's free & you can purchase additional practice tests. As long as you have basic math skills you can work out the answers, the English questions were a little trickier and included poetry.

Subbing. I'm doing it in October as well but haven't started preparing for it yet. I'm doing vetassess as well (the tafe equivalent) which I sit in mid-Sept. Eek!
