We always tip for good service - I probably would have just given $40 for a home delivery pizza

DH always likes to give a few dollars to the driver as a tip.

If it's up to me, I wouldn't tip if I was paying a delivery fee.

I paid an extra $6 to have my pizzas delivered this evening. I don't feel obliged to give any more.

Not for a delivery from a chain restaurant, but we do tip the local restaurants that deliver.

Although that's dependent on having cash on us.

ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1409309155.803740.jpg well for $35.95 (incl delivery fee) I gave the driver $38. I have to say degrassi's post nearly swayed me to tighten my ar$e cheeks and not tip, however glad I did as the driver looked really young (18/19?) and was very polite (good on him for working and not sitting on his @rse).
    - btmac I spent a lot of time in countries that do tip hence why it's on my mind (not that I always tipped there but hats another thread).

I find tipping etiquette in Australia interesting.
In this situation it would depend. Usually when I order pizza, I do it over the net to avoid public relations OR because I have no cash. If I have no cash, I can't tip!
If I do use cash I usually round up to the closest $5. Unless they've been a jerk, in which case they get nothing!

    No I don't tip.

However yesterday I ordered pizza and drinks and the total was $25.10. I gave him $30.10 and he was only able to scrounge together $4 change, so I guess sometimes I do tip!

No tip and demand a refund. That pizza has parsley on it!

If it's under $5 change I normally say keep the change

But 9 out of 10 times I pay by card so don't have that issue I rarely have cash on me these days

Tipping culture in Australia is fascinating. I actually like the fact that, as a general rule, we don't tip. The situation in the US where it is expected, sounds insane.
I would tip in a posh restaurant with exceptional service, but that's it. Usually in a cafe etc I pay by Visa, so it's not an issue, and I have found (in Melbourne anyway) that cafes don't really expect it.
In your pizza case VP, I would have given $35 and a $1 coin, and that's it. But that's more to do with the fact I think delivered pizzas (from Dominos or Pizza Hut certainly) are massively-overpriced, especially with the delivery fee. As someone else said, from a local pizza place I would probably feel differently.
