Some of the signs to watch for in very young children are if they are not using gestures, ie does he point to things, wave, clap etc? does he reach up to you? does he give you eye contact?
If you have concerns a visit to your gp might be helpful.

I am going through this at the moment with Ds2 . 18 months.
The pead saw us last week and is going to keep an eye on it as they don't start testing until 2.
But Ds2 is doing a lot of things that are on the extreme end of the spectrum.
