    Default Your thoughts please?

So over the past 18 months I have been practicing yoga. It has changed my life and is such an important part of me now. I have been offered to attend a yoga retreat in bali. 2k, 9 days, yoga classes, mediation, massages etc in a 6 star resort. I really want to go but I can not shake the guilt of travelling overseas without my family. 2k is a lot of money to spend on a getaway for myself. What are your thoughts? Should I go for it....or is it a selfish thing to do?

For me, it's only selfish if you can't afford it. And not just money but time. I have a good friend who was a yoga teacher and she regularly attends Bali yoga retreats for around 9/10 days and absolutely loves them. Yoga is a part of who she is and she finds these retreats essential.

She manages her guilt by making sure her family is completely organised while she is away so no one carries a burden by her absence.

Personally I couldn't handle 9 days away from my kids but she said the time flew.

It depends if you have the money and the time. It's okay to look after yourself sometimes.

    I don't think it's selfish at all.

If the money is there I would do it. I'm actually hoping to do a Bikram yoga retreat sometime next year. I work hard and my family will benefit from having me back all refreshed and happy. Well that's my excuse anyway!
