My DSS turns 21 this weekend and I need some inspiration for a meaningful gift!!
His Dad is giving him some shares that he purchased for him when he was 6 years old, that are now worth $10K - and even though that is a lovely, generous gift - it's not like he went out and chose something for him. I would still like to get him a present that is significant for his 21st.
He's a tradie sort of guy, into fishing and boating and not much else... I thought about giving him a trip to Melbourne for him and his girfriend to stay in a nice hotel and have a "scuba with a shark" experience, but I don't know if that's a bit lame, and it's not really a gift that might be some type of keepsake...
His Dad got him a nice watch a couple of years ago, he's not really into jewellery and I can't think of anything else! I'm stumped!
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

That sounds awesome and very generous!! As a 21 year old I would have loved if someone shouted myself and my boyfriend a weekend away!
If you didn't want to spend that much and if your DSs likes a drink every now and then you could get him one of those silver beer steins and get it engraved.

That's a great idea! A great memory is better than a thousand material presents.

My DH had a swim with the sharks experience in Melbourne, given to him for his 30th.
That was 11 years ago and still was a great memory for him.
He loved it.
Other experience ideas would be hot air ballooning or sky diving. Also flight simulators are cool too. If he's into planes, he can "land" at any airport in the world.

I agree. A weekend away would be the best gift. Experiences are forever memories.

I'll do something nice with flights, hotel, shark experience and maybe even book a show or something and do up a little info pack of things to do in Melbourne...
