Default Medela Symphony vs Swing Maxi or Freestyle

Hello! I initially rented the medela symphony to boost my supply when I was discharged from hospital and am now using it to pump 6-7 times to day to give bub expressed breast milk in a bottle (as my LO now refuses to breast feed).

    - Has anyone started out with a symphony and then bought either the medela swing maxi or freestyle?
    - How do they compare to the symphony? - Is the suction strength and efficiency similar (get same volume of milk)?
    - Would you recommend the swing maxi or freestyle?

    Thanks!!

I used the Symphony 8 times/day while I was in hospital (until day 12) and bought a Swing Maxi Double to continue as soon as we got home.
For me, it's not quite as great as the Symphony but it did the job - I was able to express the same amount in about the same time (actually more as my supply built up). I just found the Symphony marginally more comfortable and much quieter!

Hello, I also used the symphony whilst in hospital. I had an early bub who couldn't feed for long so I expressed a lot of feeds for top ups.
I was given the swing as a gift and used it everyday once I got home. It wasn't as 'heavy duty' or powerful but it still did a great job and everything I needed. I was still using up til 6 months when I would need to express.
I would highly recommend it as it is small, light weight and very portable!
I think so long as you stick to the Medela brand you'll be pretty safe with whatever your choice is. Their products are all good. GL x

I have the freestyle and love it. Very good suction. I used the symphony at first. While the two can't compare I think the freestyle is a very decent alternative.

Can't comment on the other model.
