I'm making a cottage pie atm to have for dinner tonight. My step father always adds baked beans to it so I'm trying it that way, he's always tastes nicer.

Slow cooked savory mince. Put all your mince and veg in slow cooker and add a jar or 2 of pasta sauce. My 4 girls love it.

Yum! I'd be interested in the recipe you use if you don't mind sharing?

I'd love the chilli con carne and also this kofta recipe if you don't mind.

For those who want the chilli con carne slow cooker recipe:

1 large can of diced tomatoes (800g)
    1 can of tomato purée
2 cans kidney beans, rinsed & drained
2 sachets of chilli con carne recipe base
    1 kg of beef mince
    Fresh chillies (optional)

I just brown the mince in a frypan then add it and all the other ingredients into the slow cooker & simmer on low all day. It's a bit of a cheat's meal using the pre-packaged chilli con carne powder, but I don't care, it's delicious

Recipe can easily be halved, but I like to make a big batch.
