Hi there my name is blaiz and my partner and I have just had a beautiful baby boy who is now 3 weeks old. I know this site is designed for mothers but thought I would jump on here to find support groups and playgroups as we have just moved to kenmore Brisbane and I work away in the mines so you can imagine it can get quite hard and lonely for my wife. If anyone knows of mother groups in kenmore or surrounding areas would be good if you could let me know. Thanks for your time

Contact your closest child health clinic and they should be able to organise one for her. They also do so e health checks and a home visit if you want.

The Playgroup QLD website should have some info on local playgroups. I don't have babies anymore (3 and 4yrs now) but live not too far away in Paddington if she'd ever like to meet up for a coffee date. Xx

Blaize, they're are quite a few playgroups run in and around the Centenary suburbs which isn't too far from you, both Qld playgroup ones and church run ones. Unfortunately so many child health clinics in the area have closed, but if you give playgroup Qld a call as RipperRita suggested also, they can advise of any in the Kenmore, Indooroopilly, Fig Tree Pocket, Chapel Hill areas.
Also, when you're next grocery shopping, have a quick look on the community boards, as quite often or not, various groups/playgroups advertise their playgroups etc.
I know there is a Gymboree at Indooroopilly, but that might be better for when bub is older. All the best and congrats on your baby!
