    Default Would you work if...

you only made $160 a week (4 days part time) after child care & petrol? And when CCR reaches $7500 it'll be only $50 a week.

Depends if I loved my job, had good career prospects and had potential to earn more money in the near-ish future.

Would also depend on if I enjoyed staying home full-time (which I did not).

As long as my child/ren enjoyed daycare, I would. I worked out recently that if I had 2 kids in daycare, that would be most of my salary gone on child care fees (I only have 1 child at the moment and she's only at daycare 2 days per week). Then once you add petrol and wear and tear on the car, I'd break even. I'm quite well paid so I was surprised when I calculated this. I love my job and the cost of working with 2 kids is probably something that would make me delay or even not have a second child.

I work 3 days and make less than that after costs.

I'm not working for the money but rather to get some adult company and remain employable when I want to return to full time employment.

It would depend on how much we needed the money. But at $50 a week, hell no. I couldn't be away from my kids 4 days a week for 50 bucks. Not to say there's anything wrong with doing that, for some they hate being a SAHM and can't put a price on staying in the workforce, which is just as valid. But for me, no.

If I loved the job or if the $160 made a significant difference to my budget, yes I would.

If I loved my job I would. If I really hated it and could afford to not.. Then I wouldn't.

This. I would also work to give myself a break from being at home.

ETA; welcome back, it's been a while
