Sorry ... didn't read your post properly. No way around the long process. They try and track down the father to give him the option to say yes or no. We're well into the process, so hopefully we'll know if it has been approved in around 3 weeks.

Haha, oh no. I remember how gard it was getting DS to not smile!

Actually the the not smiling wasn't the problem it was the showing teeth part. And $16 a pop for photos x 3!

Good luck to you. Fingers crossed it's a good outcome.

Same, I hate the 6 month thing, it's like all that effort and money and actually you only get 4 1/2 years. I have to renew my daughters now, I get excited at the airline sales as I often impulse buy our o/s trips so it's a real damper that we can't just fly off because I have to do the passport thing again.

We got dd's passport done when she was 2 1/2 - try getting a kid that age not to smile for a camera. When we went overseas the custom lady laughed and said it looked like a mug shot!

Crankyoldcow - that's the issue I had - no one had valid passports or it was too hard to find their passport to get the passport number or they weren't sure if they had updated addresses with the electoral commission. I ended up getting my boss to do it and she only did it as I found her passport and pre-filled the section in.
