Default New to IVF - Clinic in Sydney?

After trying for more than a year, we found out that DH has severe oligozoospermia . Today he's having a 2nd SA test, after that we'll see our options (after first results, GP said that our ONLY option would IVF, not even IUI).

We went to an IVF Australia seminar, spoke to Dr Jeffrey Persson and he recommended to re-test. After reading many of your stories just wanted to know if you could tell me your experience/s at IVF Au or any other clinic in Sydney. Read wonderful reviews about Westmead, is a bit far from where we are though, but if I don't mind to travel an hour given the case

Thank you HEAPS to all of you!

    Kookii,
I have been to 3 clinics in Sydney, Fertility 1st, IVFA and Genea (13 or 14 cycles in total but that's another story!)

In my experience Genea was the most professional and collaborative and then process ran seamlessly (my FS was Devora Leiberman).

Access may be an important consideration for you as you need to be there every 2nd day for bts and scans etc during your cycle.

    Good luck!

@Kookii sorry to hear your news - I'm with IVFA and they are great - it comes down to your Dr and the nurses... I'm with Dr Kemball and highly recommend him - I like his manner and with us we have made changes at every cycle (unfortunately of the 2 pregnancies neither ended well... But we are continuing! ) again it also comes down to convenient location for early morning BT and scan etc...

Thank you @starfish1 and @Rarah11. So good to hear we are not alone and can turn to this forum for answers!
@Rarah11, we have our first appointment with Dr Preston on Monday. He'll have DH's results by then and will see what are our options. As you said, for us is highly convenient IVFA as they are very close in the City.

Thank you again for your response!

I totally agree with Starf1sh ... I to am with dr Devora Lieberman from Genea ... And have a BFP on my third cycle.. 2nd with Genea...

But if your main issue is going to be male ... I would recommend dr Derek Lok... He's at a couple of clinics so it might make it easier for you to see him... He is a male fertility specialist...

We had issues on both sides... So I saw Devora, DH saw lok (via skype)...

    Devora did my procedures

    Thank you so much, ladies!
We've had more devastating news today: second SA results are worst than the first one . The andrology report states that we will have to go through ICSI. Don't even want to search the internet for success rates!

We'll give IVFA a try, if we feel like a number with them will defo change clinics! Thank you for your input and encouraging messages!

@Kookii don't be too afraid of ICSI - while it feels like another blow to need what might seem like an even higher level of intervention, ICSI might just help you leapfrog failed cycles without it and it's giving the sperm an even better chance to get in there. My DH and I can't get pregnant without it but I think the success rates with ICSI are still really good.

Come and join us in the July/August thread or one of the age threads (IVF in your 30's etc depending on where you sit.)

Please don't be disheartened I had 2 boys from ICSI and now pregnant with my 3rd. I'm with Next Generation Fertility and highly recommend them.
