Default Disposable nappies leaking - any tips?

We're currently using disposables until DS is big enough for the mcns.

Currently pretty much every time he wees the disposable nappy leaks & we have to change his outfit, wrap & sometimes bed sheets as well.

We are going through 4-5 outfits & wraps per day at the moment & im not sure if this is normal or if we are doing something wrong - we are doing up the nappy reasonably tight but it still seems to leak.

    Any tips?

Are they huggies? You need to stretch out the sides on huggies nappies so that the leg elastic sits properly. Not sure with other brands tho.

Go up a size? I've found huggies the best by far, but I've always needed the size bigger than the suggested weight range for my boys.

Are you making sure his willy is pointing down before you do it up? Doing that and making sure the elastic around the legs is sitting properly always helped us. Also, and you're probably doing this, but obviously changing often enough that the nappy doesn't get too full.

We folded down the top bit in half then attached the sticky when ours were little (premmies). They are girls, but it pulled the legs up to fit a lot better. Worked a treat!

It does seem to happen to begin with, I think it is that their legs are so damn skinny when they are born, it just leaks out the leg holes, he is feeding non-stop yes? His legs will fatten up quickly, and then you will fingers crossed not get leaky nappies! Can you put something a bit waterproof immediately under him in bed so he is just wetting himself/clothes and not ruining the entire bed? So exhausting changing EVERYTHING the whole time...
