Hi all, just wondering what the regular wait time is for a rental ledger? I have only ever been with Real Estates before that just print one off, but now I'm with a Landlord. Wondering what an acceptable time frame is please..
Last time I asked, it was 15 days later that I got it, which to me, is just awful. Would hate to miss out on a new place because I don't have an up to date ledger to hand in with an application..

Landlords, renters? Ledger Q..

It literally takes 3 minutes to print but we tell out tenants within 24 hours and just do it when we can - private landlords however would not have our trust account systems so probably hand do it all so I would just keep chasing them and tell them you need it ASAP

Thanks @Elijahs Mum ...
Just got an email back saying they'll try to email me one early next week Seriously, what if I needed to hand one in with an application for a new property?? Really thought it should be quicker than that. 24 hours sounds fair.

If it owner managed then expect it to be slower as they probably don't have a program and just do it by excel or something.

Yeah I get that they will take a bit longer, but a week is unfair, imo. My landlord apparently has 6 properties so I would've thought they'd have things in order. When it comes time to move I wonder what happens when I'll need an up to date ledger with each application...

Maybe you should ask them to start issuing you a weekly/fortnightly receipt?
I rented a property directly from an owner once and she would just send out the receipts every few weeks. Saves them having to do up a ledger. I just used the receipts when applying for future properties.

I just looked up the NSW tenancies slaw and it stated the owner must provide the tenant a copy of their ledger within 7 days of the request.
It's the same in QLD. When did you ask for it?

Tuesday night, so that is in line with the rules, still sucks though. Lol
@HarvestMoon I did ask for that a while back but they refused, she said to look at my bank statements
Wish I'd known when we signed that we were just dealing with a landlord. Like that the agency prints them off immediately. 2.5 years later and don't even have any inspection reports for when we move..
