I think 7.5MO DD has her first cold, she's had a runny nose all day & sneezing lots Problem I'm having is she usually has a dummy to go to sleep but can't breathe properly through her nose when it's in so she's waking up crying every 5 minutes.
Anyone else had this issue or have any tips for dealing with a cold? TIA

I used 'fess little noses' to help with congestion and the sneezing. DS didn't exactly love having it sprayed up his nose but it certainly cleared all the gunk out. We also used Vicks and did lots of warm showers with daddy to get steam into him before bed.
It's so tough to watch, poor little bubs but it will be cleared up soon. Not much you can do unfortunately DS ended up with 3 teeth after his cold. His immunity must have been low to let them through! Good luck x

Hubby is off to the chemist with a list now. She ended up sleeping on me all night just so we could get some rest. Seems ok this morning, just a bit snotty. Poor girl.
Thanks for the advice and speedy replies, appreciate it 😊

Something else that might help with a congested nose in little ones is to raise the head-end of the bed with a folded blanket or towel under the mattress. Plus as PPs have said, a vaporiser (we've started using ours *without* the smelly stuff in it), Euky bear rub and panadol. Oh and I also cut right back on MILK from lunch-time onwards as I find it creates more mucus.
