Bubs been doing gassy smiles for weeks but has started doing legitimate smiles since last Monday when she was 5 weeks and 2 days old. We were then able to see that her smiles were directly related to something we were doing so intentional rather than a reflex she's become quite the smiley baby and now loves to gives us some sweet smiles haha.

Tully does seem very smiley!! A nurse that saw DD around 4 weeks told me to start looking for real smiles from that point onwards so it's possible that Tully just started doing it a little earlier than most babies! She must just be a happy little girl!

She has her moments, though!! We introduced a dummy a week ago
As a nanny for a million years I said our baby will never need a dummy blah blah..yeah, right haha

Its a last resort thing though when nothing else will settle her (see how long that lasts ) but gosh it works well for those moments!! lol

Hahahaha we use one too but bub spits it out not long after so we aren't concerned about her having one.

What a cutie!! She looks so tiny!

ETA she quietly sucks her fist for comfort so that's why we gave her a dummy. Didn't want her chewing her fist or fingers lol.

DS was only 2 weeks old. My doula saw it and was amazed but it was an undeniable social smile.

DD was about 4-5 weeks old but you had to work hard to get one for a good 3-4 weeks! Now she doesn't stop smiling and sometimes just starts giggling for no apparently reason!

you are so lucky, I had HG too but DP isn't willing to carry and I'm the one who wants more so I'm giving myself 2 years to prepare for our 3rd, when she turns 3, which is in January 2019 we will be going back

You are so strong for going back for more! just proves the ultimate love a mother has for her children/future children. I hope you hit the lottery and don't get HG next time but if you do, I hope it is mild and can be controlled.
