Mine was super quick- easily less than 5 mins- it really depends on the operator. Mine was done by an obstetrician, so I got the results whilst the scan was being done.

Wow! That's very quick! Did they not measure the organs and bones etc?

No, they measured it all. Because he's an obstetrician, he gets the measurement he's street and then moves on.
My 20w scan was also less than 5 mins. I was a bit worried he was too quick, but both the FS and ob said he's the best ob/gynae scanner in Melbourne.

ANGRY! The census this year will not allow same sex parents to select 'mother & mother' option when filling out the form in respect to their child or children.

Apparently the ABS encourages one mother to select the father option as the only way to include information from both parents. This is disgusting in this day and age. I think this warrants a reason to argue about not filling it out!

It's purpose is to learn about shaping Australia's future and to learn about current families, how will this information be accurate if we are forced to lie on the form? I'm lying by saying my child's other parent is the father! So shouldn't I be penalised as I am providing misleading information!?

Its ridiculous in this day and age this is even an issue 😡 I'll be calling them up because I won't fill it out if we can't be accurately represented, and I will certainly not be paying a fine if I don't fill it out!?

I think we all need paper forms to properly reflect our family set-ups! I'm angry now too!

Ladies sorry to intrude but this is utter bull---

Under the family law act if the baby was conceived while you were in your relationship then you are BOTH considered the parents. You both have parental rights and obligations and if you separated you would have legal rights as a parent irrespective of who actually carried and birthed the babies.

I would argue this form is a breach of your child's human rights, in particular chapter 5.

If it were me I'd be making merry hell over this. It's disgusting.

I'm going to call and complain tomorrow. Surely if enough of us did it, we'd make a difference.
