    Default Pregnant with bronchitis.

Hey ladies, I was wondering if anyone has suffered from bronchitis while pregnant?

I have been sick for a week now, my cold turned into bronchitis. I went to the dr yesterday and was prescribed some ABs but havent taken any yet.
I read cases are from a viral source and I don't want to take them if they won't work, I really don't want to get thrush as I do get it easily when I take ABs as I can't insert anything inside due to a cervical stitch.

How long does it usually take to run it's course? Is there a point in which I should start taking the ABs? I purchased a vicks vaporiser and it's made it a lot easier to breathe and is helping thin the mucus.

There's no way to test for viral vs bacterial?
It could get serious if left untreated, like turn to pneumonia?
Maybe you could take probiotics at the same time as the anti biotics and it might lessen the chance of thrush?
Bit of a difficult situation but I might be more worried about the bronchitis than possible thrush if it were me.
    Hope you're feeling better soon

If you have been prescribed abs, I think you need to take them now. Talk to the pharmacist about something safe to take to stave off thrush but I personally wouldn't wait in case its course is pneumonia.

That's awful you have bronchitis i also came down with it in my first trimester when pregnant with dd. I was prescribed antibiotics which i took. The doctor said it was basically to stop me catching anything else since my immune system was so low. The humidifier every night helped a lot, eucalyptus oil in the bedroom helped as well. Just any home remedy really. It took a few weeks for me to start feeling better.
I hope it doesnt take long for you.

Thanks everyone. I bought some inner health plus today and started taking the ABs, I haven't gotten any worse but also haven't gotten any better. Fingers crossed they do something.
