Eeek I hate to admit that I keep some for a while then throw them out after a few weeks...
However I did keep all the cards with beautiful wishes that we got at our wedding. These ones are very special

Cards are a waste of money to me.

Normally they just say a simple 'happy birthday enjoy your day' when I write them or receive them. It's never got anything long and meaningful on it. It's just a gimmick to me, to make more money.

I'd much rather just have my friends and family attend my 'do'.

I do buy cards and get the kids to make them for others though.

In saying this, I have kept cards for very special occasions as I'm a bit sentimental, so for our engagement, wedding, DS's 1st bday and both boys christenings.

Otherwise we throw them away. We have nowhere to store them anyway

I still have cards and letters from 22 years ago in school from friends and boys I liked. They are so special to me. There's this letter from this boy I really liked and who I went to the school formal with in year 10, and in the middle of it he says 'so I guess you're wondering why I wrote you this letter. It's because I like you too'. My friend had told him that I liked him the previous day, haha oh god just thinking about it all now.....

And nd then there's this card from this guy I went out with when I was 24 and single again. I only went out with him for a couple of months over summer but it was the best summer ever, I loved him he was definitely the one that got away! He gave me a valentines card with a gorgeous message in it, and a letter also.

Now I'm looking at them all feeling so sentimental!

Sorry OP off topic there! As you were!

Same. Especially the "Dear xxx, From xxx" ones. DH's family send birthday cards from England & don't write anything on them but that. What is the point?

Back to topic, Op I agree with everyone else, don't take it personally & stop paying for her. Problem solved!
