Some people engage their mouths before their brains. Incredibly rude and stupid thing to say but generally people mean well, it just comes out all wrong.

Yep rude but sadly pretty normal. I want to punch anyone who tells me I must be so happy to have scored a pigeon pair. I just smile and say that after two miscarriages to get my 2nd child I am just happy that he is here.

That is really strange and maybe like others say it is about having one of each. I suppose most ppl think you have to have at least one of each for a family.

Just plain rude, some people really need to think before they speak. It's like talking for the for the sake of making noise..

Weird, rude and down right stupid. I have a 17 month old dd and every time I see a family memeber (mainly aunts/older members) I always get asked when am we going to make a "brother" for her???? Who said she wants a brother? Who said I want a son? Maybe I only want girls? Maybe I don't want any more??? They just don't think before they speak.
In another way it could just be what other pp have said that they don't mean it in a horrible way but it just comes out wrong.

Weird and rude!

Very rude. I'm pregnant with #2 and I get so sick and tired of speculative comments that I'm having a girl because I would then have one of each. We are about 70% sure that we are having a girl and it's at the point where I don't want to tell anyone because I want to avoid dumb comments like this one.

That's a very odd thing to say???? I would have been puzzled by her comment.
