So 3.5 months ago I had my second child. My oldest is now 5. There is a 4 yr and 9 month gap between them.
I ran into a woman I hadn't seen in a while. She was congratulating me on my new dd and she said 'you're finally a proper family now!' - I don't think she meant any malice behind it at all, but I was very when she said it. Do you think it is weird?

Very strange thing to say, I wonder what made her say that? Very silly.

Do you have one of each now? I got the "proper family" comment from my MIL's friends when we had DD after DS.
I'd say she was being thoughtless, didn't think it through on any level AT ALL but was well meaning iykwim.

Ok, so I'm not over thinking it. Some people really are clueless.
