    Hi everyone

Just wanted to drop in and say hi as I've been a bit quiet here. I am always reading along though.

I'm 11 weeks today. Things have been a bit up and down with a number of bleeding episodes, the worst of those happening just last week. But, the good news is that bub is doing totally fine and appears to be totally unaffected by the bleeds. I wish I could say the same. It's terrifying when it happens.

I've also been a bit knocked around by nausea and exhaustion. Fun times! I'm not complaining though as I know how very lucky I am. I'll be happy to make it past 13 weeks and hopefully say goodbye to the sucky symptoms for a bit though.

Good luck for egg collection today Tittle, and good luck to you too Luca. I hope you have a successful journey.

Hi to everyone else :-) and a big welcome to the newbies.

Thanks all for the well wishes.

egg collection was yesterday and we got 10 eggs. They rang this morning to let us know 4 had fertilised. We were a bit disappointed with the 4...hopefully they all make it to day 5 (in our non donor cycles they generally all died between day 3 and 5)

Tittle - I agree everything crossed that they all make it!! Be positive and remember they are young eggs.

Hopefully we can catch up next week in CT. We arrive Sunday night and will be in contact when we arrive. Good luck!

Tittle, keep positive. We only got 6 eggs and 4 fertilised and was initially told we would do a 3 day transfer. When we rocked up on the day we were told all 4 were still great and to come back day 5, previously we also had massive drop off btw 3-5 so were anxious but when we arrived day 5, 3 were 'text book' blasts so we put back 2 and froze the other. Monday we had our first trimester screening/tests and both babies are great and going well. Everything crossed for you. xx

Good luck for next week Luca, have a great time in CT.

MrsErin, sorry to read of more bleeds they are really scary but great to hear all is well with bubs. The nausea is horrid and I'm still suffering as well and looking forward to it easing but i keep being told its a sign of healthy babies.

KLM, awesome to see you have planned your return trip, September is not far away.

Mardicharli, hope all the timings work for you for this year. once donor is selected things can move pretty quickly.

Welcome Nic1970! We used and paid by credit card and no issues at all. The clinic is very professional. good luck with your donor search, agree to look at all donor agency websites and choose depending on whom your ideal donor is registered with. It may also be worth dropping the contacts a note to explaining what you are looking for as the donor we ended up going with actually wasn't 'live' on the website. We contacted the agency regarding another donor, asked questions about previous cycles only to find she had only produced a couple of eggs and wasn't happy for us to go with and so she sent details of a donor that was about to be available again and turned out to be our perfect donor.

Regarding accom query, we stayed in the harbourside apartments that were ok and found via booking.com website.

Hope, only a few very close friends, parents, siblings knew of our trip to CT was for IVF with donor eggs. Other friends/family knew we were doing IVF and now as we share our news of pregnancy they know its from IVF but we are not elaborating that it is donor eggs at this stage. I want my children to decide themselves who they want to know... if at all. We plan on telling them from an early age that mummy needed help and will elaborate as they get older, I'm keeping everything to make a book to share with them.

williteverhappen, sorry about your further OE cycles but you have to do what you have to do and can only move on when you are ready. All the very best with the rest of your journey to CT. It was the best decision we made.

Hope everyone is doing well, biggest hugs xx

Tittle, that's great news. Hopefully they are 4 little fighters!

If you have time whilst in Franschoek, go to Delaire Graff winery for lunch. It was so incredible. My husbands favourite venue of the 3 weeks we were in SA.

Good luck tittles! Hang on for the ride... it's hard waiting for the results - I didn't rpeven want to know, we got the egg retrieval number and then I just waited til transfer day to find out the fert rate etc.
Luca, happy travels!! Very exciting! Wishing you all the best.
Mrserin, my hubby is still reminiscing about cape town, he said yesterday 'jeeze that was a good trip, great food, scenery ... a mystery date...' lmao, I just about wet my pants laughing at that.
