    Default thermometer recommendation

    Hi all,

can anyone suggest a good reliable thermometer? I've heard the ear thermometers are bit inaccurate so I'm reluctant to get one...

    thx in advance

I just reviewed the lifetemp radient non contact thermometer and it was awesome! Highly recommend it. I think it retails for about $80 but so worth it!

We just use a omron one that can go under tongue, armpit or rectal. We use it under ds arm and reads in about 20 seconds. We have an ear one but ds has waxy ears constantly so it's not accurate. Gives a different reading everytime.

The arm one I often do three readings and get the same result. We just add 0.5 onto the result as per our dr instructions because it reads a little lower there.

Just a tip - ear ones aren't any good if your child has temps from constant ear infections, as I found. I have an infrared one for the forehead which is great.
