    Gardening, draw on chalk board, go to park (pack a picnic) story time at the library, rotate toys fortnightly and bring out 'new' toys. Cut out pictures from magazines and stick them on paper, play soccer outside, blow bubbles, play hide and seek and chase each other, play dress ups. Cook simple things like ANZAC biscuits, look for butterflies and birds in the garden, do a treasure hunt.

    Try and keep things simple, the world is still fascinating to toddlers

    DD loves washing our cars or motorbikes. She has her own sponge and helps out and loves using the hose.

    Subbing... some great ideas.. my little boy loves to fill his outside toy truck with gravel and then empty.. keeps him entertained for a while.

    Some things my kids 4.5yo dd and 3 yo ds enjoy:

    Wrapping up their books and toys and pretend they are presents
    Tea parties and picnic with pretend food
    Watering garden with spray water bottle
    Cut pictures from magazine and glue with my help
    Cubby house from cardboard boxes
    Water paints are less messy than normal paint
    Toy kitchen
    Draw with chalk outside
    Dd loves when I paint her face
    mega blocks
    Train tracks
    Build with wooden blocks
    Car races with toy cars eg see which can go the furthest
    Tie rope to a box and let them drag it around
    Make box into stuff eg washing machine, doll house
    Give toys a bath (outdoors)
