My son has to have a 4 year old health check next week as part of school readiness. When I called to make the appointment at the gp they told me it would take about 40mins!
Anyone know whats involved?

Yeah. It's just a full developmental and medical check. I think all the details are in your health book. They check eye sight, speech, physical development etc. My GP asked me to complete a huge survey before our appointment.

Check your blue book - my DDs took about 30 mins. Did height weight eye check, asked lots of questions just to her, I'm assuming to see if any speech issues? She is a chatterbox so nothing further mentioned. A friends 4yo has always been quiet and was recommended a speech pathology session to ensure all ok prior to school. Guessing its so they aren't "behind" others when they start kindy and issues can be addressed beforehand?
Edit - this check was done at local early childhood centre. GP did immunisations afterwards

Thank you for reminding me of this! I took DS1 at the beginning of the year for his and they didn't have time to do the check so just did his immunisations. I forgot to go back and get the check done. I'll add it to our calendar now so I don't forget
