@Bongley I had read that at my age a conversion protocol (go on pill, start lucrin, go off pill, change to orgalutran and start fsh) was a better protocol for my age group. If we don't have any great success with this go I 'm going to insist on it for the jan cycle.

Good luck for next cycle, I'm not going to join the month groups anymore, too depressing when it never works for me.

@Chiefsgirl Yeah, I understand. Its also difficult to be as upbeat as some people who haven't been through it as much. I also have to berate myself for any unkind thoughts when people nab it the first time.

I've never heard of that protocol, something to new to google

Try dr sher. He did a webinar about embryo banking and pgd testing a few months ago that I watched. He talks about it in depth and it is his preferred protocol for women over 39

Chiefsgirl... yes, I agree, I stopped joining the monthly threads quite a few cycles ago, because same thing, very depressing always being in the BFN group. I also found I started getting very annoyed at some of the comments of first-timers. I tried many times to put myself in their shoes, thinking, well, I was once a first-timer, but in the end, stop joining those groups and stay where I belong!! Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that way :-))

    Default Hello

Hi everyone, I'm new to these forums so sorry if I do it wrong

I've decided to join now as I'm into the 2nd week after my first fet, and starting to feel the symptoms of AF coming on. This month is going to be really hard for me as my wonderful father passed away 2 weeks ago, so the whole transfer process has been even more emotional than usual, and I'm pretty terrified about how I will cope should it be a negative result... I'm testing on the 20th but AF is due on the 16th.

I've just turned 41, my partner and I have one naturally conceived 5 yr old daughter, and have been TTC for 2 yrs. This is our first cycle of IVF. We've had one failed fresh transfer.

Anyway, it's reassuring to read some of your stories here. And I wish you all the very best of luck with your journeys.

Nereid... welcome to our special thread. You'll find lots of support and advice here. Considering that you've had a naturally conceived baby, hopefully it's just a matter of getting that golden egg. Did you transfer 1 or 2?

Hi - hope you don't mind a new comment - I noticed a reference to conversion protocol - aacep. I convinced my FS to let me try it on cycle 2 with dramatic improvement in egg numbers. Trying cycle 3 currently with it again. If you have a low response without a low amh (ie normal for age) I'd definitely recommend giving it a go!

Thanks @Jem70 that was me. My new FS originally said yes and has now said no. I'll go with the standard long down for this cycle then will push for the conversion in my next banking cycle.

Thanks for the info on how it went for you. Did you notice any difference in quality?
