    Default Tried and true weight loss....

    What works for you? every time.

    I lost enough weight early on in the year to feel better about myself. As I work and travel a ridiculous amount (this finishes in 2 weeks ) the weight has crept on. My scales battery went flat about 6 weeks ago and I replace it last night - I've put on 5 kilos and I'm not tall. My clothes don't fit properly, I feel ridiculous and lethargic.

    I've lost weight before and prior to having a baby was quite slim to very slim. For some reason - I think its pure exhaustion - I have no control - at all!

    Inspire me to get back on board with my health - I also want new clothes

    What do you do?

    What works?
    What stops you succeeding?

    For me, lots of things work, it's finding the will power

    I've had most success with calorie counting and body trim/Atkins or high protein/fat. Shakes have worked ok as well.

    I do exercise regularly. At least 3 times a week to gym and walking/exercise at home on other days.

    Thanks @BigRedV - willpower is definitely my issue and being exhausted means I have little to no energy to summon will power. Hopefully this will change when I stop working.

    I've just started the Couch to 5 K - I'm in week 1. I thought about shakes today to give me a head start...

    I'm old school when it comes I weight loss. I do low fat. Eat a heap of dairy (skim) products, just watch calories and start moving.

    I eat a lot of good fats (nuts, eggs, avocado) during the day to keep me full. I avoid anything processed or convenience type foods. I don't eat anything low fat, I eat full fat dairy (keeps me fuller for longer) and I eat red meat at night. What I don't eat much of is carbs, salt and sugar. Minimal bread, starchy foods, lollies and cakes and I avoid preservatives. It is a guaranteed weight loss formula for me every time.

    I tried Lite an Easy for breakfast and lunch, and cooked a healthy, clean meal for dinner. I would also go for walks twice a week & I lost 7 kg in 6 weeks.

    Good on you.

    I find I am really good for a while, then stop. It's frustrating and bloody hard. Being tired is awful as you just make awful choices.

    5:2 fast diet. Takes a bit to get used to but definitely works. Dh and I have been doing it since January so it's doable long term. It's meant to have loads of health benefits besides weight loss.

    Yep I'm the same - I go really well for a bit and then spiral back down after a few months. I make really bad choices when I'm tired, I just go on autopilot. Once it hits 3.30pm I'm chowing down on anything in sight regardless of how good I've been during the day.
