    Wow! that's really lucky and surprisingly generous of them! But I have also heard many stories about people being only a couple of weeks short and still got knocked down, so I supposed if you get lucky, great, but don't expect it!

    But yes, we always knew about 12 months waiting period, so that wasn't a surprise

    Anyway, my husband and I re-read all your advice and some articles etc., had a good and long discussion, weighing up all the pros and cons, talked to friends who went with private, sisters who went public.....
    and we have decided to get a private insurance, but also to continue with our research/preparation for our options in public system just in case we fall pregnant earlier than full term with insurance is served.

    We'll probably need to seek some advice again, but will start a new thread

    I know the lady who set up my midwives toowoomba and she us a wonderful, caring and very experienced midwife. I am under the impression that they also have an ob oversee all their women.
