For the naysayers - it's a maxi-cosi ap and is definitely compatible with Australian requirements just FYI.

It's all about researching the products before you buy so you know what you're getting.

I looked into the peg perego capsules and the US ones were identical (even checked with the company) to the Aus ones and less than half the price.

Doesn't it need to have an Australian standards sticker on it to be legal ?

I agree, baby gap has some lovely things. They run small so get a size or 2 up, and remember baby could be in 0's and possibly 1's by the time they are 6-9 months old, so perhaps get some stuff for the next season. Also, a friend of mine at work suggested Kate Spade nappy bag- I think you can only buy them online here, and no doubt they will be cheaper in the US. Have a great trip.

Hi girls, for those who did buy their pushchairs online through American retailers, who did you use, and what was the shipping like?
I am wanting to get a 2014 Baby Jogger City Select, I currently have one on layby here for just under $1000, 1 seat. I have found so many US sites that have them for $534 AUD, but aren't allowed to ship to Aus. That's not a problem, I use hop shop go, but the estimate on shipping is usually WAY off what it ends up being!

So, 1, who did you get your pushchair from?
    2. How did you ship it, and what was the price?

    Thanks xx

Can't help sorry as I didn't end up purchasing for the reasons mentioned by PP about the safety standards stickers. There is a US to OZ freight forwarder you could Google.

Eta-They are also cheaper in NZ (baby factory) if freight is less from there. That's where I ended up getting mine from but I was flying over so didn't need to pay freight.

Sorry to crash but mumgo have baby jogger special on at the moment. Don't know if it's the one you're looking for but it's $499.

Baby on the Run in Boston.
From memory, we got an extra seat and bassinet for about $900aud.
Same set up here would have been $1200 I think.
Mind you the xchange rate was really good at the time.

They organised the freight. Sorry can't remember the cost.

We bought a pram from the states and saved a couple of hundred dollars if we had bought the same model here. Also picked up a few bits and pieces like Skip Hop branded things, nappy bag and of course clothes. We didn't know at the time what we were having or would have bought a lot more clothes! If you can get to a Carters outlet, the savings are usually pretty good.

I wish I had also bought a travel crib in the states as it's another thing that is easy to transport back. I've been eyeing the Baby Bjorn one and it's just ridiculously expensive here!
