Could you give him a bottle of formula to top him up if you're worried about weight gain? My DD was very unsettled for the first 6 weeks and would pull of the boob screaming. She didn't gain much weight so in hindsight I think I didn't have the milk supply. Once we switched to formula she was settled and gained weight.
So maybe try one bottle and see how he is after that?

Try to wear him. It worked well for my daughter in those first 10 weeks and she was on and off unsettled
