    Default Super early mornings

Ok, so both of mine have been up since 5.30am this morning... the 1 year old was feeding on and off through the night AND I've quit coffee... so I've popped them both in front of the telly for some peace. Feeling a bit guilty.

How do you cope with super early mornings? Are you an up and at 'em type, or a slow starter?

Very slow starter here. DD is up around 6am which is fine, but DS is often up at 4.30. I usually let him watch peppa pig on my phone to keep him quiet for a while while I doze on the couch.
I am impressed you gave up coffee!

Well, it's been four days... and I take it one hour at a time, trust me. It's a very hard habit to break!

DS1 has been through many a period of starting his day at 4/4.30am. If he wouldn't go back to sleep with me in bed I'd get up and we'd go for our walk. Sometimes I'd put him in front of the tv and doze for an hour. Now between the 2 of my kids 5.30am is a reasonable start to the day!!

My habit is an early morning energy drink. Terrible I know.
How are you feeling by day 4?

Really good, actually. I've switched over to having herbal tea first thing which is nice to warm up in the cold mornings. There are so many nice teas these days. Without caffeine your energy seems to be more even throughout the day instead of spikes and lows, IYKWIM. More stable.

I love the feel of evenness/stability without caffeine! But also love caffeine.....hmmmm

The kids just clearly need to learn to sleep longer!

I'm a get up and go person. Usually if the girls are up by 5.30am I can cook dinner, do laundry, bake something and tidy up by 7am. Then we go for a walk or play.

    Love love early mornings.

I too am usually an early morning productive type, UNLESS DD or DS do not sleep. Then I am slow going and grumpy, these are usually followed by eating badly and snacking during the day. I have been trying in the last couple of days to curb this by drinking 3 litres of water daily.

Wow - I totally admire that! So do you just keep going all day, or find yourself needing "down time" in the afternoon?
