Hi All,
just hoping I can get some advice & reviews on Sydney fertility clinics!
I have a referral to Dr Derek Lok at Genea in Liverpool but have a friend that advised against him as he rushed straight into drilling her ovaries without explanation or looking at other options. she also said he was VERY hard to understand due to not speaking English well.
She then changed to Dr Mathews at Next Generation in Campbelltown & got BFP on her first IVF cycle and highly recommends her
I have extensive medical issues and PCOS. been TTC #1 for 8 Months.
only done 1 cycle of clomid (50mg) and did not ovulate so OBGYN suggested I see a FS. (plus not happy with obgyn)
DF & I would like to try clomid more & other options before IVF so looking for someone that is willing to try every suitable option rather than going straight to IVF
Any advice/experience's you could share would REALLY help!
Thankyou in advance!!

Hello @PurpleLove
I have just see this and thought best to comment as we just saw Dr Lok at RPA yesterday for all of 8 minutes!
He was very dismissive, didn't even go though our results, shoved an IVF consent form under my nose and appeared totally incompetent. Run a mile!
Genea is very slick in the city but a bit like a car showroom. All sales.
Good luck with it

Ahhh. Thankyou
That sucks he was so crappy. I really don't want to see him but the Dr we DO want to see is booked out until august! and I don't want to spend 3 cycles doing nothing so we have booked with him in the mean time.not very happy. I wish we had the luxury of waiting for the right doctor but Ive been told if I dont fall within the next 3 months I wont be able to fall ever.
Thankyou for the review. I will be going into it a little more aware, I will keep looking for another Dr in the mean time though!!

Wow. That's a pretty harsh statement. No pregnancy in three months equals never? How come?
I actually didn't know that we could even pick doctors to see. I thought we just saw whoever was on at the time.
At the end of the day all you want is to start treatment so if nothing else Dr Lok will sign you off for that. Good luck!

Dr Andreadis at Genea is based in the Inner West. You could probably book into see her soon. She works for Genea but will prescribe Clomid first as long as you ask for it. We saw her first but swapped to the public system for actual IVF.

Next Generation are fantastic. Dr Matthews did one of my egg collections but Dr Benny was my FS. We didn't have to wait too long for an appointment in Parramatta. He's excellent and won't rush into IVF if he feels there are other options worth trying. He's very thorough and takes the time to explain everything. We never had an appointment with him that was less than 30mins. Our first appt was about an hour.
Dr Matthews books up as she's very popular, we'd have waited 3-4 months to see her but Dr Benny was much easier to get in to, and I'm glad he was our FS (currently 33wks pregnant thanks to next gen!).
Genea are crazy expensive and I haven't heard many good things about the doctors there.

Sorry @PurpleLove..
It must be hard to have multiple issues. Sending a huge hug xxx
Dr Natasha Andreadis isn't overly warm and fluffy but she will listen and give you the time you pay for.
Good luck xx
