I am assuming you are a permanent resident or now a citizen and hubby is Australian ? If so, yes medicare will cover, if you are on another type of visa, then I am not so sure...

For NT scans you have to request for a referral to be done at the hospital. Doctors would try very hard to get you to do it elsewhere, they would say things like we don't routinely do that. But it can be done at the hospital if you want and it's free.

ATM public is completely free, no bill or anything to pay and get refunded, just free.
Though with the proposed $7 Medicare co-payment, who knows if that will apply to child birth.
