    Default Crochet experts - help!

I just made a very basic beanie for my daughter. The pattern said 18 months to 3 years, I crochet tight so used a 8mm hook with 8 ply wool. Attached is a photo of how it turned out, there's no chance I'll get it to stretch to fit her head. Any suggestions on what I could do differently?

You'll need to do a tension square before you start next time, then work out what size hook to use. An 8mm hook seems really big for 8 ply wool, normally you would use a 4mm hook.
Also you weren't supposed to do a front and a back were you?
