I just let my dd feed herself with everything, messy or not. If its messy i put an old oversized tshirt on her while she goes nuts.
We do lots of finger food and yogurt and hommus to dip stuff in. Even mayo.
Shes 17 months and loves jaffles with tuna and cheese.

I get quite worried with him going to town on things i know he can feed himself and i do let him with most stuff but saucy things i worry as we are in our first unit and dont want to get any stains on the carpet lol

i bought a splat mat which is a big pvc mat from aldi and put that under her high chair, its brilliant!
