Do all babies go through this sleep regression? I don't remember it with my daughter? So I'm assuming no they don't.

Most babies will, but not all.

Op, my dd was cutting molars at 12 weeks, have you ruled out teeth?

My DS definitely went through a regression at 4 months, and it lasted til 7 months. And there was not one single thing I didn't try. Tizzy whatshername, the no cry sleep solution, introducing solids, dream feeds, increasing day sleeps, removing day sleeps, white noise, night lights, lullabies, wrapping, more blankets, bath/massage before bed, etc. Nothing made any difference, he just grew out of it.

I did wonder that because his cheeks were rosie the day before last and he's been congested. But they're not rosie anymore and overall he's been in good spirits, just waking a lot. He goes back down easily (ie just eats and back to sleep).

What other signs of teething? He's chewing on his hand a lot but that's included as a sign in this wonder week.

I was hoping he'd be one of those .

I'll post the sleep site article I found on sleep regressions. There's more of them but the four month is supposedly the worst. It all has to do with developmental phases.

This started out as me thinking he had a cold, he's been congested and earlier in the week was waking up coughing and not able to breath, he'd be properly upset from it but now it seems it's just waking to eat like he's a newborn again. Maybe he's still a little off color or maybe that one bad night was enough to throw him off it all?

Overall I feel I should just go with it, the feeding, because I worry maybe he is unwell and needs extra fluids, has a scratchy throat, etc... He's very smiley and cruisey so it's hard for me to tell what's up. He even smiles at the saline drops going in his nose

Definitely still want everyone's suggestions though, or just reassurance it passes!

My babies went through this "4mth sleep regression" for about a year. Then they were ok.

I'm not sure a year is reassuring!

Hey holly - 4 month slept regression is a killer! It really knocks the wind out of you, just as you think things are settling down it cones along and takes you for a six!

I found ask moxie very helpful! Best advice I found on the web tbh.

Remember; it's not your fault, it's not from anything you've done, it will pass. Ride with it, fighting it makes it so much worse!

I like this because it's a reminder that sleep regressions are developmental not because we're not doing things right or should have done things differently. It's because that's what some kids do. Buggers!
