I'd go with stvs over Freemasons because they have adult icu if something went wrong. Neither hospital has a NICU unfortunately. Recommending Dr Skinner too

@Mona26 I think you do not have enough posts to have access to private message.

I tried to send you one and wasn't allowed

Can I send you an email somewhere?

I have had Dr Skinner for 2 of my kids and he looked after my third pregnancy until we moved away from Melbourne. He's wonderful. I preferred Freemasons over St Vincents. For so many reasons I found it a much more welcoming place.

Yes can't say I liked st vs (at all in fact) but being a nurse I'm paranoid and look for the healthcare side of things ie emergency care. I'm booked in again to st vs this time round but hope all is well and I can discharge myself ASAP.

It's funny how we all have very different experience of the hospitals!

When were your stays @Beta and @Sonja? What did you dislike?

I didn't try Freemasons, just went for the visit and the room she showed us was tiny. We also disliked the huge nursery with the babies aligned in front of a window so anyone walking in the corridors could watch the babies but stv has probably the same thing (we just didn't see it nor used the service).
I think we choose Stv cause you are guarantee a private room and cause the MW doing the visit was A LOT nicer.

I can honestly say though that my two colleagues who stayed at Freemasons late 2012/early 2013 loved it and rave about it.

Thanks a lot girls! It is true you have different experiences and I hear good things on the 2! St Vincent and freemason ! It s hard to choose . I call Dr Callaghan but Unfortunatly is full! :/ so I decided to book with Dr Pregs Pillay at Freemason and Dr Suzana Kotevska at st Vincent . But I know they do the 2 hospitals. I will think about this and make a choice in few days. Help me for this choice between them??!!

my sister in law (French) was with Dr Pillay and loved him!
    Highly recommended.

Maybe ask the OB whether Freemasons and Stv have availability to book for birth? I hear that they book out really quickly too.
