I made vegan red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting with silver cachous in bitty little jars for our wedding... Our colors were deep red and charcoal. I made them all myself in one night, four days before the wedding when our other bombonierre plan fell through at the last minute. They came out absolutely delicious and looked amazing, people were asking me who catered them!
We did vegan so there'd be no risk of food poisoning etc and nobody could tell, people were amazed when they found out. They stayed fresh and moist in the jars for about a week after the wedding too

Is there a party supplies warehouse near you? They usually sell bulk specialty lollies and chocolates in various colours. Depends how much time they have - if they have time to make something there are some lovely suggestions in the thread.

We did brownies wrapped in foil for our wedding. So easy to make and not very expensive, also no fiddling around with icing and can be cut to fit any size box. Everyone loved them. If you have time and feel up to it I would do some type of baked good (brownie, cupcake, cookies) otherwise I'd bulk buy chocolates or lollies from a wholesale confectionary or party store. Like a PP said, 3 days is short notice, I wouldn't waste time trying to source anything too difficult and I think an edible bonbonniere always goes down well with guests.

Bulbs? It's a good time of year to plant them too.
My sister did this and it's still my favourite bonbonniere of all

Still on topic of your nieces wedding, how is she with her dress? From memory it was the wrong colour.

What did she end up doing?

Lollies. She individualized the boxes. So my dd that love sugared almonds got them. My one d's got all kisses. Other got jelly beans, Kool mints, smarties, chocolate hearts.
Yes the dress were red and not fascia pink. To add insult to injury one turned up with holes and rips in it. So much for custom ordering from a big chain store.

That's pretty poor form of any place to do that! I hope she was able to enjoy her day anyway.
As for the bombonniere what a good idea!
