I will never co-sleep has to be my massive fail statement with dd.
I won't let my kids eat junk. Yeah, right.
My kids will only have milk or water.
My kids will not have a room full of toys.

I never for the life of me imagined just how little sleep a person can live on.
I never thought I'd be ok with two sets of eyes watching me poop. And providing commentary and support.

I had big ideas that made my children would just observe mummy once or twice and tidy their bedrooms, toys in lounge and ask if any chores need doing. Haha!!
Toilet training would be so easy well I am an early childhood teacher, good god were we in for a shock.
My children wouldn't even know what television was, only nature docos for my little brain boxers.
I love being a mum, esp in the back of the car we are discussing little boys bottoms and me trying not to scream out loud in hysterics, never a dull moment.

Another one. Dress ups are only for at home or parties. I managed to stick to that one for over 6 years until last weekend. Now add supermarket to that list.

I was not going to be a yeller. (DS1 has ODD....hard not to sometimes).
I planned on being a calm, collected Mum. I was never going to lose it. (DS1 has tested me in ways i never imagined possible, to the point of an anxiety attack on occasion).
My children would not have tanties, especially in public. (DS1 again, epic public meltdowns, especially in extra stimulating, exciting places).
My house would look neat and tidy all the time. (our toilets are always clean though, lol).
DP and i would get back to our pre pregnancy s.ex life. (getting there, 7years on, we have plenty of quickies, but am preg again now....).
My children would all know how to read and write before starting prep. (kind of, but i realised that their time playing was more important. So far, our eldest two haven't been interested in going anything like that with me until school, and i haven't pushed it).
I think we all have some sort of pre conceived notion of what being a parent would be like. DP and i have actually had some very deep conversations about this recently. Our parenting ideals are pretty much the same, and both of us have struggled having to change those ideals due to having a child with ODD. We never imagined parenting each of our children in different ways (duh! They aren't lemmings!).
