I would go the standard then you can always buy the extra 'free to grow' extensions if/when she is no longer knee to knee these attach to the standard tula to make them more the width of the toddler size.

DS is 18 months has just outgrown our Manduca but still has a fair bit of use left in a standard Tula. They're super comfy and gorgeous too

I don't know what the knee to knee thing is?
I only want to buy one. And not have to upgrade later.

I have an infantino mei tai and love it! Not that I carry her anymore, but I tested it with my almost 3 year old and it was comfy. You can get them new for under $70

Basically a baby carrier should support the entire thigh to the knee joint. So from one knee to the other knee. Which is why bjorns are often referred to as crotch danglers!

so when I was saying earlier by DS2 was no longer knee to knee, what that meant was his legs were hanging on either side of the ergo by about an inch on each side. Whereas in the tula now his legs are fully supported (actually even past the knee joint because we got the toddler size).

I hope that makes sense? I'm tired!

Doesn't fit around the waist? They have an ergo extension strap, I needed one I don't with the tula though, they made it a lot bigger around the waist.
