I'm 23 weeks and go for ages without my belly growing and then it explodes over night. My abs are really painful, and have been for the last few days and its got to be to do with baby's latest growth spurt because my belly has exploded again.
The pain is quite different to normal growing and stretching pains, it's as if I've pulled or torn a muscle and pulling my belly muscles in is all that will relieve it.
I'm paranoid about my ab muscles separating and have a bit of a hole/dip in the middle of my belly about an inch under my belly button.
Would a belly support band help with the straining kind of pain/stress on the muscles or are they mainly to take the weight of the belly in order to relieve back pain?
Are there any particular kinds that anyone has used for a similar problem?

I used belly support and I still had some abdominal separation so I think it might be purely to take some weight off. That being said I still loved wearing it. I didn't have any back pain or anything but it was nice to have some relief still.
I work on my feet so it was awesome for that too.
Also, I had no dramas with my abdominal muscles knitting back together afterwards.

Yes I've also faced similar problem during my pregnancy. These belly bandit belts are very important to provide support to your growing uterus. It is not compulsory to wear these support belts during pregnancy but if you don't have a good body posture or have gained excess weight then you should wear these belts.
