When is Mother's Day this year? I have planned my boys birthday party for the 11th now I'm worried it's Mother's Day. I've already paid a deposit for the jumping castle :-/

I'd go. Our families are interstate, and while we usually do a little activity for just the three of us, we can do that at another time during the day. I'd probably still go even if my parents were in the same city, I love kids parties.

Though, if it was me, I'd hold the party on the Saturday or if there was no choice but to go for the Sunday, I'd do it but expect people not to make it.

My DD's birthday is the 11th (mother's day) and I decided not to do a party this year (she will be 2) I know most of my friends etc will be celebrating mother's day and spending time with their families. If I was going to do one I would probably do it the day before.

I know my best friend won't be doing anything that day (her partner is a chef so will be working) so I think we will all go to the aquarium together and have a small cake later to celebrate.

I think as DD will only be 2 she won't remember that she hasn't had a party.

Its the 11th! By the looks of it a lot of people wouldn't mind.

    Thanks ladies.

Its my first mother's day this year & I've been invited to a kids party. I thought it was a little odd. Not sure if I will go - its a bit of a drive & I will be seeing my own Mum that day too.

I'd rather not go to a party on mothers day. I should be able to choose what I want to do and if possible sit back and let dh spoil me. Then we go to visit our mums so the day is full on busy.

Never realized Mother's Day was such a big thing...!

I would throw a party on that day yes, and I would also attend other kids party on that day.

However my mum and MIL live on another continent and I wouldn't mind having whatever DS/DH have "organized" for me on the Saturday or the Friday

Previous to this year (ie previous to being a mum myself) I wouldn't have even batted an eyelid at it. My mum likes to be left alone on Mother's Day. Just a phone call to say hi is usually enough. MIL lives over east so no stress there either.

This year no, probably not as it's my first or I'd do the 30 min drop in if it wasn't too far away. Next year and further years I probably wouldn't care, especially if there is a jumping castle, woohoo!!!!!

I'd go but I'd be annoyed.
