Default WWYD Birthday Party on Mother's Day

Just curious what others would do or think:

Would you plan a kids birthday party on Mother's Day?

Would you attend or let your kids attend a birthday party on Mother's Day? Would you be happy or annoyed about this?

Personally I'd be annoyed. It's a day where we're already stretched between celebrating with my own family (usually breakfast), then my mum then hubby's mum. I probably wouldn't go because to be honest, celebrating my mum is more important to me than your child's birthday party.

my Daughter had her birthday party on mothers day - I think it was last year.

it was fine. was an afternoon party, so people had time to have breakfast etc.

I think only 1 of her friends said she couldnt go because she had stuff on (which is fine ... but you get that anyway, mothers day or not)

I wouldn't go as our day is usually busy with family stuff. I wouldn't be annoyed, but would assume that the person throwing the party would understand that people generally have family commitments on the day.

My birthday sometimes falls on mother's day. I always go for the next available Sunday or do the Saturday for birthday parties.

I would go but be a little peeved that you pick that day.

I wouldn't hold a party on Mother's Day or Father's Day but I'd go to one in the afternoon. I love kids parties.

Only if it was for an immediate family member (niece, nephew etc) and if it were on their actual birthday. I think if their birthday fell on the Monday or previous Friday then it would be more considerate to hold the party on the Saturday.

Mother's Day is to celebrate mothers and I doubt many would want to spend the day taking their child to a party plus visit grandmothers and then hopefully get some time in there for themselves.

One of ds1's good friends has had his birthday on mothers day twice and I haven't had a problem with it as Both times my dh has had to work so I liked to go as the party was at a play Centre so it gave me a couple of hours to hang out and enjoy a coffee in peace!
I can understand why some people wouldn't be able to make it due to family commitments but that is the Chance you have to take
