Sorry if this is not the appropriate section but I wasn't sure where to post.
I had a Pap smear last week and had been having some issues regarding bleeding during my cycle & post coital bleeding. I have an appointment with my doctor next week to go over results and discuss contraception. However the receptionist called tonight saying I need to go in first thing tomorrow morning.
now I'm freaking out and was hoping if anyone could please share their experiences with being called back after a Pap smear. Thanks.

Not me but a good friend had a Pap smear come back with an abnormal test result. She had to go in and have a biopsy done as well as removing the abnormal cells.
All came out clear in the end.
Good luck. Can only imagine how you must be feeling. Fx it's nothing major xx.

I was called and asked to come in when I had abnormal results. Was told to have another Pap smear in 12 months which came back fine. Hope that is all it is for you.

Sometime the pap smear can give an abnormal result, either low grade where they'll just ask you to come back sooner for another check, or high grade, in which case they'll send you for a colposcopy (it's basically like looking at your cervix closely with a big magnifying glass). If this also shows something abnormal (which it might not!), then they'll do a biopsy, which also might come back ok, or it might show that there are dodgy looking cells there that need to be removed.
I went through all of this a few years ago, and have since made a full recovery, no abnormal smears since. I can elaborate on any of the details of the checkups and treatment if you want?
Sorry you've been called back though, I can totally understand freaking out
Remember that even if it is bad news it should be very treatable

Sometimes the sample they take isnt a good sample and the have to do it again.
Hopefully its nothing serious but obviously it would be very stressful for you.

It's scary getting that call, I had the same thing last year. Went and had a colposcopy which showed cin 2 & 3 cells, had a lletz to remove them. Had another colposcopy 3 months later which came back clear and I have another colposcopy in May which if comes back clear I can go back to regular Pap tests. Try not to worry, it will all be fine, chances are they just need a closer look as Pap tests aren't always accurate, and if they do find anything it will have been caught early, you will be fine
