Hope all is well with JJ and hwaterhouse. I was induced and the breaking of the waters felt like an uncomfortable paps smear. Not pleasant but not painful. And I am a big sook about pain but you will amaze yourself trust me. I know it's über corny but when you see your bubs it is so worth it. Good luck ladies.
For me the best thing i have used for bubs are the old fashioned cloth nappies that I use as spit rags, to line the cot so I don't have to change the sheets/ mattress protector, on the change table, privacy for bf and a million other uses. $16 bucks for 12 at big w. Cheaper than buying lots of sheets for bubs bassinet. And saved me being peed on twice!
Berra sorry to hear you are in pain. Sounds like the right decision to go on mat leave a little early. Gives you time to rest before the big arrival.
Ann loved your idea about your DHs pressie. Please let us know his reaction. I'm sure he will love it.
Jay awesome pergola and spa. The winters here do get pretty chilly so that will be amazing in July.
Found out I have a pretty severe case of mastitis. I thought I was getting a bad flu but no. Discovered red splotches on my boobs and soooo painful lumps and went to dr who confirmed it. Yeah it's no fun. At least bubs is measuring over his birth weight today at 3 weeks old. That's positive.

We are over the moon to advise that our little miracle arrived yesterday afternoon.
Mia Teresa was born at 4.54pm weighing (a not so big) 7 pounds 11.
She is perfect in every way and I can't believe my dream to have my very own princess came true! ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1398706457.209186.jpg
I'll type my experience separately

Firstly I hope everyone is well and sorry I haven't had a chance to read back yesterday's personals. Thanks for your well wishes. Hwaterhouse, can't wait to hear your news!
My waters were broken and 8.30am. My OB had to do it 3 times and in the end I needed gas the third time as it was very uncomfortable and quite painful.
Between 9 and 9.30 the IV of Sintocyn was started. Contractions came on very quickly about 3 mins apart but not unbearable. OB checked me at 1pm and I had only dilated to 2cm. They upped the dose and by 2pm I asked for the epidural as they were too frequent and intense. I was tired! OB came back at 4 and I was still only 2cm dilated and my cervix was getting harder instead of softer We had no option but a c section. I was whisked away with DH by 4.30 and Mia was born within 20mins.
She was put on my chest however I started feeling nauseous and I couldn't hold her as my hands were numb. I was also falling asleep. I was sewn up and taken to recovery at 5.30. I slept till 730 only to wake with no feeling below my neck!!! I couldn't feel my arms They bought over Mia and DH and we had skin to skin contact but I couldn't hug her The midwife expressed via syringe my colostrum which filled the syringe and DH fed Mia. I was in Recovery till 11pm and then moved to my room as I started getting feeling in my left arm and slightly in my right. The nurse assisted me to feed Mia and she did great sucking away. She is currently in the nursery and hasn't woken yet for her next feed. (3.50am) I can't sleep, I'm on a high!!
Sorry if this is long winded but I wanted to share my story. It didn't go to plan but I wouldn't change it for the world as Mia is here safely

Yay congrats JJ and welcome to the world Mia! Lovely name for a cute little girl.
Thanks for sharing your story. I'm glad in the end Mia arrived safely. It would have been scary to have no feeling from the neck down. Did they explain why?
Hope you've gotten some rest in the meantime although I'd probably be on a high like you keep us updated!

Congratulations Jj xx She is absolutely beautiful.
Sounds like you had a rough one and a full spinal block not epi. It must have been frustrating and scary to not be able to feel anything at all, but I'm glad Miss Mia arrived safely.

Thanks ladies.. They were only supposed to top up my epidural so not sure if they topped it up too much or whether I just responded badly to it. It was really scary not having any feeling.. I've got full feeling now but it's been 12 hours! Little miss Mia is sleeping beside me as we speak... Owwwwww, I could watch her for hours.. xx
Can't wait to see who is next! This really is the best thing ever!

JJ - congratulations and Fantastic news, the main thing is that Mia got here safely. She is adorable! We have Teresa as our second name too JJ, (my DH mothers name). You poor thing that the spinal blocker was so long lasting. Was yours meant to be a full body blocker? Enjoy this time in the hospital. I loved mine, it was like being in a bubble and so special getting to know bubs.
