Just a quick one to say Abigail Rose was born at 3.32am (Australian eastern standard time) to mum and a very smitten dad on 18-4-14.
6pounds 9 ounces
Had a stretch and sweep Wednesday, contractions all Thursday. Went into hospital at 8:30 with around 6cm dilation and was there for around 7hours before giving birth. They had to break my waters near the end because I wasn't progressing as quickly as they like and boy did that final stretch come on quick and strong. If it hadn't they were thinking of putting me on the drip. Ended up giving birth naturally which was one of the hardest things I've ever done. And needed no stitches.
We have to stay in hospital because her body fat index came up a bit low so we're feeding her regularly and they're checking her blood sugar with pricked to the heel, poor love. Breastfeeding is hard because she has such a small mouth and just wants to sleep. But we're persisting for these tests.
Very tired as we've been awake for a few hours now and the hospital ward is sooooo loud!
Anyway, DH and I are smitten. Very much in love with our new family. Excited and nervous about what's about to hit us xxx

Lotsa so wonderful to log on and see another baby has been born. Congratulations on the safe arrival of Abigail. What a cute little face! Sounds like the birth was hard, but well done for getting through it and with no stitches.

Started packing the baby's bag for hospital; but haven't thought much about mine yet. We had got most of our baby stuff bought and organised, before my baby shower last Sunday; but now we have a whole heap of other stuff to go through and find places for. Hopefully I can get that, and the bags packed for hospital, within the next approximately 3 weeks (which sounds like no time at all).
44 days to go. Can't believe how close it's getting (but at the same time still feels so far away).
