I have always been told to sit still during the test. Good luck, it's tough if you get morning sickness.

The 2 hour test definately sucks! I hated sitting still for that long and yeah I wasn't aloud to leave either.

Sitting there isnt the problem, ill take a book. It is the 1hr test, i checked my slip. I just wanted to get the test done before I see the ob (or as I said st least have the drink) so that im not too late for work.

I'll have to try the midwife yet again today. No idea how people are meant to get their questions answered if no-one ever calls them back!

I am only getting the hour one. Will get it next week. The midwives said to come in, grab the drink, go to my appt, then come back for the test. It's all on the same floor so they aren't too worried

Where I work we still do the 1 hour glucose challenge. It all depends on your Dr and the pathology company. If you want to take a photo of your form or tell me what tests the Dr has requested I can tell you which one you have to do.

Are you able to ring and ask? There should be a phone number on your pathology request form.

It used to be the 1 hour non-fasting one except if you were higher risk (PCOS, a bad 1 hour result, family history of diabetes or a personal history of gestational diabetes). Now it's straight to the 2 hour fasting one.....all Obstetricians and Gp's would've received the latest (2010) research info from the 'Australian Diabetes in Pregnancy Society' and will know about it if you ask them
