Default Weird symptoms, don't know whats going on? Any thought or experience?

    Hi everyone,

I have a weird situation where I am having seriously bad period pain, it's more than double the intensity of my normal period pain, it's almost unbearable at times, i had to go to the chemist and buy a packet of Panadol for the first time in years! It's really putting my life on hold right now, barely functioning. I get woken up at night by enormous amounts of pain.

Yesterday I got a BFP on a home test.

But surely with cramps this bad it won't last? I have been pregnant before and had an early miscarriage and I wasn't in pain like this.

Went to Dr yesterday and that was completely useless. My AF isn't due until today or tomorrow. So he said it was way to early for a home test to be reliable and I was just having normal period pain and if it doesn't come, come back for a blood test.

I don't know whats going on. If i'm not pregnant then whats wrong with me to be in this much pain, if I am pregnant then this can't be right?

I guess i'll just put up with it and see if AF comes. Even though I did 2 positive pee tests, but Dr said that doesn't mean anything this early?

Thought? Any one else had major cramps and ache like this?

Sorry you're in so much pain.
There are plenty of women who get positive pregnancy tests before af is due, is I don't know what that dr was talking about.
I'd alternate taking panadol with nurofen or try and get something a bit stronger from the chemist. Make sure you tell them you're pregnant though.
I got cramps during the early stages of pregnancy but not the crippling type, more of a dull ache.
Try and get some bed rest. If it gets unbearable take yourself to the er for some stronger pain relief. Not much else you can do but wait I'm afraid. Hope you feel better soon and your bub stays sticky.

I remember with my last baby getting very bad cramps before I'd poas & that's how I knew I was pregnant. Spent an entire day on the couch with hot water bottles.
Every pregnancy - even in the same person - can be very different.

Sit tight & hopefully all is ok.

Can you take neurofen if you are UTD?

I would possibly ask for an ultrasound. I got horrendous, painful, agonising cramps that made me curl up in the fetal position and stay there for hours and they did an ultrasound to check for an ectopic pregnancy, just to rule it out and I didn't have a BFP or anything, so maybe just to be safe have it checked?

Although I've never had an ectopic pregnancy, so I'm not sure if you do get cramps with them or anything, just what happened with me.

I agree with this. If I were you I'd be going to the nearest emergency department and tell them what's going on. The Dr you saw sounds clueless.

Yeah, maybe I will head to hospital, I work in a Medical clinic just next door. Right now i'm in so much pain i'm sweating and my vision in blurred, so glad I have my own office so no one can see me! It's very on and off, this is the second time it's hit me hard today but god it's bad. I'll never survive working if this is normal pregnancy stuff.

It definitely doesn't sound normal. It could be heaps of things, a kidney stone, a bad uti ? Your gp really should have investigated further and not fobbed you off.
