    Default Chances of going early.

    Hi ladies,

This is my first bub. I am 33 weeks along and just looking for some insight into what you ladies think of what my ob/gyno told me.

I have been having cramping/contractions since about 26 weeks. My cervix has since then gone from 40 mm to only 20 mm now and my cervix is also very soft. Baby is also engaged and ready. My gyno said he doesnt think I will make it to 37 weeks.
I would really like to know what you ladies think? Anybody had experience with this? I am still getting regular cramping/contractions. But gyno said not to come in till they are only 5 min apart.

I think just listen & trust your OB.. Have you been put on bed rest? Hopefully you can hold on till term.

Nah he didnt put me on bed rest. He has put me on meds to
Stop the contractions. But they arent working. So I am playing it by ear. Was just wondering if there are any ladies who have been in my position and give me some advice.

The cramps are quite uncomfortable again tonight and bub is so busy.

I was in a similar position with my DS. I had labour stopped at 32 weeks and he was born at 36 weeks and spent day 2/3 in special care for phototherapy but was otherwise perfect

Thanks hun. I really hope she stays put until 36 weeks.

The gyno hasnt checked if I started dilating yet. He only checks the length and how soft my cervix is.

How would I know if labour has started? Because I am already so used to the contractions I am getting now.

Plus how would I know if I have started dilating?

Hi Lollie. I am 39w2d. This is my first. How often are you have these contractions and how long are they lasting? I have just been told that unless they are getting closer together at regular intervals, then it's not labour.
My bub has been fully engaged for 2 weeks now. Apparently this means nothing for an early labour.
I have have been getting the braxton hicks since week 28. The very tight tummy that looks like bum an d back but it's not. Maybe once a day.
Only now it's 5-10 times a day and a bit more painful. Lasting 1-2 mins
I don't know much about cervix length tho.

At night they get to at least 8 min apart lasting about a min. But during the day they are 10 to 15 min apart lasting about min each. Plus the pressure is getting more and more each day.

Nah my gyno said not to come in until they are only 5 min apart. So will just keep an eye on them.
