    Default How dumb is this?

DS is in year 9 and during a photography class the teacher had them making a collage from old magazines. DS was stunned when he noticed that the magazines they were cutting up were vintage issues of The National Geographic magazine. He pointed it out to the teacher who brushed it off and seemed rather "meh" about it. No one else seemed to care but my DS knew that these treasures needed to be saved so he brought home 3 copies before they were destroyed- one is from 1936! Full magazines with ads like a14 day cruise to Japan from LA for $236!
Gobsmacked that the teacher is just hacking them to pieces...

that is just plain crazy cutting them up, I bet if you go on ebay or something they are valuable collectors items. Wonder where they came from as they would be really interesting. My mum was born in 1937 sure she would be amazed.

I have a feeling they were probably donated to the school by a local family for history or something, not to be cut up. The thing is, DS said they are in box mixed with modern magazines which are being used as well, so it's not like the collage they are making needs to have these vintage pictures in them.
I just find stuff like magazines and newspapers.from almost 80 years ago priceless and fascinating!

Maybe contact the school and explain what's going on?? The history department may not realise.

@Jennaisme I really should. You'd think the teacher would have realised.
